Going down the left side of the map, I started encountering the missile firing elite Clay Men and ended up evading four shots in a row due to one of my items (and only one of that item, no less). I had shown up on the tundra level with the bridge and had chosen to go towards the right side of the map first, but upon climbing down and not seeing the teleporter, I decided to turn back around and retrace to the other side. The closest I came was a simply screen length away from the teleporter. Upon reaching the third level, the goal was always to rush and find the teleport pad as activation was all that was needed, not completion of the level, but several times Fate had different plans. I always tried to buy items after the level was cleared unless it was something immediately accessible or absolutely pivotal to me and without risk. However, this would take a back seat to camping out on a ladder and using active items to clear locations out if I knew there was no chance to go in swinging without getting struck. Speed was always of the essence, as the faster I could get to the third level, the lower my odds of getting a swarm of enemies spawning immediately and during their attack animation, leaving me no chance to dodge. Skyfields were particularly troublesome due to the combination of Black Imps and Jellyfish, plus the level layout tended to fair terribly when trying to move between groups of enemies and find leverage to fight back safely. The Magma Worm itself wasn't difficult, but dodging jellyfish and all the enemies that appeared while trying to work with the constant movement required from the Worm's attacks would spell doom for my attempt most often than not. Because of this, many attempts with superior item options fell flat because I'd get a terrible boss option, like Magma Worm, or the second level would be Skyfields(?). With this achievement, however, there were two other huge factors that had to align in favor boss and level selection. I did fairly well solo, but like many things in this game, item chance can be the difference between immediate success or failure. Feel free to pick them up (not the health drone, unless you're looking to complete the game regardless of the achievement), but definitely make one of the active use items I mentioned above a solid priority if you can. While they're helpful, something else always went wrong. I never had an attempt go well enough to have drones work out for me. Other solid options: Safeguard Lantern, Jar of Souls (good when camped on a ladder/rope and can't risk getting to the platforms above or below), Crudely Drawn Buddy, Instant Minefield, Unstable Stopwatch, Sawmerang (this is a good first active until a better one as it provides good damage while on the run), and The Back-up. Camping a ladder and using these items back to back can be the difference between safely clearing a spot or taking a guaranteed hit. These actives can be triggered off ladders/ropes and can hit enemies map wide, providing for extremely safe enemy removal.
